Food and Medicinal Uses:

Used to relieve coughs, colds, sore throat, hoarseness, and respiratory issues.

Also an antifungal and antibacterial.

 

Other Uses:

Withes (limbs) are twisted into rope.

Slewíy shredded and used for clothing and diapers.

Xpá:y is burned as fuel, made into canoes, used for longhouse planks, and carved into masks and other carvings.

Roots are split for making baskets.

Xpá:ytses used as mats and for spiritual purposes.
