Food and Medicinal Uses:

Qwó:pelhp is used to treat arthritis, colds, bronchitis, and pneumonia.

Also a blood purifier and tonic. Can be used as a laxative.

Berries were rubbed into hair to treat dandruff, repel lice, and make hair shiny.

CAUTION: Spines break off the plant easily and can become embedded in skin; spines contain acid that causes skin irritation.
