Food and Medicinal Uses:

Blooms in June, bulbs ready in July.

Stems are eaten raw. Bulbs are eaten raw or steamed in underground pits.

Has antibacterial and antifungal qualities.

Used to treat cuts, burns, insect bites and stings.

Relieves indigestion, gas, and vomiting.

Medicine for colds and sore throats.

 

 

CAUTION: St'áxet looks like, and often grows alongside, mountain death-camas, which is very poisonous.
