Food and Medicinal Uses:

Sqá:la ripen in mid-July and are eaten fresh, dried, or made into jam. Berries were traditionally stored soaked in grease or oil, or mashed and dried as cakes.

 

High in vitamin C.

Treatment for bladder and urinary tract infections, sore throats, inflamed gums, and swollen joints.
