Food and Medicinal Uses:

Young flowering stems and leaves can be steamed and eaten in the spring.

 

St'él'exel is used to treat colds, coughs, sore throats, stomach ulcers, sprains.

It also relieves insect bites, inflammation, burns, sores, skin diseases, and arthritis.

CAUTION: Contains alkaloids, which can be harmful in large doses. Pregnant women should not consume st'él'exel.
